Veteran Ratings & National University Launch Veteran Student Success Initiative Scholarship Program

Supporting Veterans Beyond Military Service Through Education

Veteran Ratings and National University are proud to launch the Veteran Student Success Initiative, a new scholarship and Veteran outreach program focused on supporting Veterans pursuing higher education, career development, and long-term success after military service.

The initiative was created with a simple mission: helping Veterans continue building successful futures as they transition into their next chapter through education, professional growth, and community support.

As part of the partnership, Veteran Ratings will contribute $12,000 in general scholarship funding for qualifying Veteran students attending National University. The initiative will award twelve $1,000 scholarships through June 2027 while also creating educational resources, Veteran success stories, and community outreach opportunities designed specifically for military-affiliated students.

Unlike tuition-specific scholarships that are applied directly toward tuition balances only, general scholarships may provide additional flexibility for students by helping offset other education-related expenses such as books, supplies, technology, transportation, housing, certification costs, and other day-to-day financial needs that may arise.

About the Veteran Student Success Initiative

The Veteran Student Success Initiative is designed to provide more than just financial support. While scholarship funding serves as the foundation of the program, the broader goal is to create long-term educational resources and awareness opportunities for Veterans navigating the transition from military service into higher education and civilian careers.

Through the initiative, Veteran Ratings and National University aim to recognize the unique challenges many Veterans face when balancing education alongside careers, family responsibilities, financial obligations, and everyday life transitions.

For many Veterans, returning to school after military service can feel unfamiliar or overwhelming. Navigating degree programs, educational benefits, career planning, and work-life balance often requires additional support and guidance. The initiative was built with those realities in mind.

Unlike many scholarship programs that announce recipients once and move on, the Veteran Student Success Initiative was intentionally structured as an ongoing monthly program. This allows continued recognition of Veteran students while creating opportunities for educational outreach, storytelling, and community engagement throughout the year.

Monthly scholarship recipient spotlights will help showcase real Veteran experiences, educational journeys, and long-term success stories within the Veteran community.

While scholarship funding is a major component of the initiative, the long-term vision extends beyond financial assistance alone.

As the Veteran Student Success Initiative continues to grow, planned educational resources may include:

  • Veteran student success guides
  • GI Bill planning resources
  • Transition-to-college checklists
  • Educational planning information
  • Career development content
  • Veteran success stories and recipient spotlights
  • Downloadable educational resources for military-affiliated students

The initiative may also include selective community events, networking opportunities, educational discussions, and future collaborations with veteran-focused organizations and community partners.

Supporting Long-Term Veteran Success

One of the primary goals behind the Veteran Student Success Initiative is creating meaningful long-term value for the Veteran community.

Education often represents a major turning point after military service, and Veteran Ratings believes Veterans deserve continued support as they pursue higher education, career advancement, and personal growth.

Through scholarship opportunities, educational outreach, and community engagement efforts, the initiative aims to help Veterans feel recognized, supported, and empowered throughout their academic journey.

Veteran Ratings and National University look forward to continuing to invest in Veteran students while helping expand access to educational resources and support nationwide.
